Contenido

Recent scientific evidence on climate change has caused communities to urgently consider alternative ways to reduce our carbon emissions. The European Environment Agency estimates that automobiles alone account for 14% of the EU's total CO2 emissions. The role of electric vehicles in the European transport sector has offered a vast opportunity for industry growth. However, the introduction of these low carbon technologies requires continued support from the European Commission through policy development, regulation of trade, standardisation, investment as well as research and development funding.

Special guest speakers for this event will include:

  • Mr. Rolf Stromberger
Director Environment and Economics, European Automobile Manufacturers' Association - ACEA
  • Mr. Helmut Morsi
Head of International Transport Relations Unit & Trans-European Transport Network Policy, European Commission
  • Mr. Frederic Sgarbi
Head of Sustainable Surface Transport Unit, European Commission
  • Mr. Nick Ford
